The Institute is a non-profit charitable organization established in May, 2005 (originally named The S4 Center). Its purpose has been refined into being the facilitator and coordinator for implementing EcOasis type solutions around the world and particularly focusing upon highly underdeveloped and highly at-risk community locations in need of reliable, safe, pure drinking water, improved sources of sustainable and renewable power, basic health monitoring of humans and food supplies, anti-microbial protection of building and human-contact surfaces and clothing, and basic communication including self-education through the internet.

An Executive Summary document provides a text overview of the Institute.

Note that in January, 2008, the name of the Institute was changed from "Institute for Sustainable Communities" to "Institute for Sustainable Economy and Community."

A formal business plan drafted by Price Waterhouse Coopers is prepared and available to serious interested parties.

An introductory presentation (PowerPoint Slide Show) provides more colorful information.

The institute has initiated all the formal application procedures for obtaining IRS 501c(3) status ASAP. ALL relevant documents are available for review.

Note also that our directorate and advisory board is able to speak with any interested donors and this includes by use of video teleconferencing. We are not like some "non-profits" - you can find us, you can validate us, we have no dark secrets in the closets, and we are not driving around in BMW's and living high off the contributions of people.
